Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets: Week 7

Teams on BYE: Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills

QB - Jaxson Dart (NYG)

35.4% Rostered

Jaxon Dart is good. Like really good. I am very impressed with his last couple of games. I had my doubts when he was named the starter 3 weeks ago but he silenced every single one. He scored 23.6 points against the Eagles defense last week. He went 17/25 for 195 yards and a TD. He also added 13 carries for 58 yards and TD. Dart looks better and better each game. In fantasy, we all love a rushing QB and he has 50+ yards rushing in each of his starts and added 2 TDs on the ground. Up next, he plays the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are a good defense but they aren’t ready for a duel threat QB like Dart. That paired with the fact that there isn’t a ton of tape on him is a recipe for fantasy success.

RB: Kimani Vidal (LAC)

27.1% Rostered

Going into last game, we all wondered who would be the RB1 for the run first Chargers offense. Those questions were answered when Vidal scored 22.8 points against the Miami Dolphins. He had 18 rushes for 124 yards. He also added 3 receptions for 14 yards and a TD. Granted, the Dolphins possess one of the worst rushing defenses in the league but rushing for 124 yards is always impressive. Like I mentioned, the run first Chargers offense is back so Vidal will get plenty of opportunity until Omarion Hampton comes back from IR. There is talk of Jim Harbaugh going with the “hot hand” at running back but I think this game proved that Vidal is the much more explosive back with his 21 touches versus Hassan Haskins 7 touches. Up next Vidal plays against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have a much better run defense but the Chargers’ run first offense will give Vidal a chance to break a couple free.

WR: Kayshon Boutte (NE)

7% Rostered

Kayshon Boutte had an incredible start to the season but then disappeared. He showed he is BACK this week. Monster game for 26.3 points against the New Orleans Saints. He had 5 receptions on 5 targets for 93 yards and 2 TDs. It truly seems like he is a redzone target for Drake Maye. Week in and week out, he gets targeted for a TD. He may not always come down with it, but the opportunity is there. Talking about TDs, the Patriots offense and Drake Maye look very, very good. I expect way more redzone attempts moving forward. Part of the reason why I think Boutte is back this week is because of Stefon Diggs. Diggs had his coming out game the other week. He showed that he is still elite after his injury. Defenses will have to start showing Diggs respect with double teams and defenses shifting to his side which leaves plenty of 1 on 1 chances for Boutte. Up next, the Patriots play the Tennessee Titans. Just an awful, awful team that just fired their coach.

TE: Cade Otton (TB)

8.9% Rostered

Cade Otton is on the field a lot. He has had offensive success in the past but kind of got lost in all the other offensive weapons the Bucs had this year. Since injuries happened, Otten is targeted much more. He has been targeted 11 times over the last 2 games which is a good amount for a TE. He scored 10.1 points against the San Francisco 49ers. He had 5 receptions on 6 targets for 51. Moving forward, he will continue to get more looks and opportunities. QB Baker Mayfield wants to continue to make a case for MVP and he needs to keep up his offensive production without the likes of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving and potentially Emeka Egbuka. Otton is his guy. Up next, the Bucs play the Detroit Lions. The game is slated to have a high over/under so expect a lot of offense.
