NFL Power Rankings: Week 2
1 – Baltimore Ravens (1-0)
PR – 5, LW – Win against Colts 41-23
The Ravens are SO back. Lamar Jackson looked like a better passer and showed he still some juice left in his legs. Derrick Henry is showing that the age 30 running back curse doesn’t apply to him. He had 24 carries for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns while reaching #3 on the All Time Rushing Touchdown list. Crazy stuff. One small, teeny tiny issue though – if Zay Flowers is forced to miss time due to a hamstring injury, the Ravens are so weak at the WR position.
2 – Buffalo Bills (1-0)
PR – 2, LW – Win against Texans 36-31
Like I said last week – Josh Allen is going to set a new bar for what “Elite” means. Allen threw for 334 yards and 2 touchdowns while rushing for another 2 against what many call the best defense in the NFL. Elite? Nah, ELITE.
3 – San Francisco 49ers (1-0)
PR – 7, LW – Win against Rams 27-7
Taking down the Super Bowl favorites in Levi Down Under…. sure does feel good as a 9er fan. But in all seriousness, the offense looked good, the defense looked great and special teams had no mistakes. I do feel bad for CMC fantasy owners because that shared workload with Kaelon Black is rough for his fantasy value.
4 – Los Angeles Rams (0-1)
PR – 1, LW – Loss to 49ers 7-27
The Rams looked like they were sleepwalking in Australia. Seems like their travel plan was the wrong move. Having to watch Stenson Bennett at QB because the game is out of reach is not something fans had on their bingo card. To add insult to injury, Myles Garrett got placed on IR due to a knee injury.
5 – Chicago Bears (1-0)
PR – 11, LW – Win against Panthers 59-37
Ben Johnson’s Bears are well on their way to being the best offense in NFL history. Thank God their defense is as holey as Swiss cheese. Putting up 522 yards in week 1 is a statement. It is a little weird that with all that offense, Colston Loveland had as many yards as Mike did taking care of baby Luke (That means he had 0 yards).
6 – Kansas City Chiefs (1-0)
PR – 12, LW – Win against Broncos 31-10
The Chiefs are a run first team now?!? Crazy thing to say when Patrick Mahomes is your QB but hey, it works. It really, really works. Kenneth Walker didn’t miss a beat following his Super Bowl MVP performance with 191 total yards and 2 TDs on Monday night. Steve Spagnuolo’s defense was spectacular too and held the Broncos to less than 200 yards of offense.
7 – Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0)
PR – UR, LW – Win against Browns 34-10
Trevor Lawrence didn’t cut his hair but still picked up right where he left off last season. As we all remember, the Jags finished the season on an 8 game win streak and this weekend, Lawrence threw 4 TDs while spreading the ball around to 9 different players. Let’s pause for a second and take a look at the matchup… the Browns. That being said, I still think this offense will be fun to watch moving forward.
8 – Seattle Seahawks (1-0)
PR – 3, LW – Win against Patriots 13-10
Yes, they won on opening night but lost their Super Bowl winning QB in Sam Darnold. Honestly, this feels more like the Patriots mistake rather than a Seahawks win. It’s hard to trust this offense moving forward. Drew Lock steps up as QB while owning the lowest competition percentage of all qualified QBs, the coaching staff grossly misused Jadarian Price and their second leading WR had 35 yards. On the bright side, JSN is still fantasy proof but that’s the only real positive in Seattle.
9 – Detroit Lions (1-0)
PR – 8, LW – Win against Saints 31-30 (OT)
The Lions won, but the game should have never been as close as it was. The Lions have a continuity problem. The offense and defense are never good at the same time. In the first half, the offense was bad, but the defense held the Saints to 0 points. In the second half, the offense came alive, but the defense gave up 24 points. If they can put the two phases of the game together, this team will be great. Until then, they’ll just be a question mark.
10 – New England Patriots (0-1)
PR – 4, LW – Loss to Seahawks 10-13
Last year’s cakewalk schedule might be coming back to bite them in the booty. Drake Maye played against a ferocious defense and made mistakes. Iron sharpens iron but the Pats have only faced iron twice in the last calendar year. The season only gets harder from here with AJ Brown set to miss the next 4 games and Romeo Doubs being a certified dud.
11 – Denver Broncos (0-1)
PR – 6, LW – Loss to Chiefs 10-31
Last year I wrote at length about the Broncos being a fake good team. I faced a lot of backlash. Last week I said I was skeptical about Bo Nix being able to plant and throw off a broken ankle that required 2 surgeries. One week into 2026, and I’m right about both accounts so far. Nix went 17/28 with the majority of misthrows coming up short. Remember the scramble and rush ability he had last season? Well, he ran 3 times for 2 yards. Point James. Also, how are you going to sign Jaylen Waddle to $85 million yet only get him 1 catch for 2 yards? Makes no sense.
12 – Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)
PR – 9, LW – Win against Commanders 24-22
Ooofff, this offensive line is brutal. Yes, Saquon ran for 83 yards but was buoyed by a 43-yard-long run. The majority of the time, he was stuffed before he even reached the line of scrimmage. On the defensive side, the bright spot that was the defensive line, turned into a gaping hole that let the Commanders rush for 132 yards. On paper, the Eagles should have easily walked away with this one but only won by 2 instead. That is concerning.
13 – Cincinnati Bengals (1-0)
PR – 14, LW – Win against Buccaneers 33-27
The narrative that Joe Burrow isn’t Joe Burrow in week 1 continues. Burrow went 254 with 1 TD and 1 INT against the Bucs, which in and of itself isn’t a terrible line, but it’s not Joe Burrow worthy. We expect 300+ yards with 3+ TDs a week. Give it a couple weeks and Burrow will be Burrow. I guarantee it. Here’s something I never thought I’d say – the Bengals finally have a defense. This unit forced 4 fumbles and even scored on one of them. Helluva day.
14 – Houston Texans (0-1)
PR – 13, LW – Loss to Bills 31-36
This defense gave up more than 30 points for the first time since 2024. Do I still think they are the best defensive unit in the league? Yes, they just had the unfortunate luck of running into Elite Josh Allen. On the offensive side, the O-Line looked vastly improved and actually gave CJ Stroud time to throw. Stroud looked much better and if this continues, I might take back my “Stroud is horrible” take.
15 – Minnesota Vikings (1-0)
PR – UR, LW – Win against Packers 39-22
Can we take a moment and appreciate the Vikings’ grit and perseverance here? They looked dead in the water after Kyler Murray goes out and being down 10-22 in the middle of the 3rd quarter but fought hard to score 19 unanswered points and win. Tyler owes Carson Wentz an apology after this one. You may hate the guy but have to admit he played his heart out. Also, Justin Jefferson is fantasy relevant again!!
16 – New York Giants (1-0)
PR – UR, LW – Wiin against Cowboys 28-20
Okay, I’ll say it – the Giants offense is fun to watch. Jaxson Dart was dominant and in full command of the offense, his best friend Cam Skattebo lost more brain cell on his way to 81 yards on the ground and Isaiah Likely looked like a true TE1. Could the Giants be the team to beat in the NFC East?
