Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets: Week 12
Teams on BYE: Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Washington Commanders
QB: Trevor Lawrence (JAX)
24.2% Rostered
The same Trevor Lawrence that has been a middling starting QB since he got into the league? Yes, that Trevor Lawrence. This pick is all about the matchup though and its a good one. Let’s talk about his previous performance first. In week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers, Lawrence put up 15.02 points on 14/22 for 153 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. He also added 5 rushes for 9 yards and a TD. I know that the yardage total is low, but that is a function of the Jags blowing out the Chargers. There was no reason to pass. Now let’s talk about this matchup that I love so much. The Jags play the Arizona Cardinals next week. The Cardinals are not a good defensive team. They just let the 49ers put up 44 points on them. They struggle mightily against the pass. On top of this great matchup, Trevor Lawrence has shown a great rapport with new WR Jakobi Meyers. Meyers had 5 receptions for 64 yards. Lawrence and the Jags should also get Brian Thomas Jr. back which is another explosive pass catcher for Lawrence. All signs point to Lawrence having a big day!
RB: Sean Tucker (TB)
28.6% Rostered
Is there a better answer for your Waiver Wire RB this week? I don’t think so. I think it has to be Sean Tucker especially after his career game this week. Tucker scored 34 points against the Buffalo Bills. He had 19 carries for 106 yards and 2 TDs. He also added 2 receptions for 34 yards and a TD through the air. At this point, Tucker has a firm hold on the RB1 role in Tampa Bay. His usage has been steadily climbing over the last couple weeks and this week confirmed that he’s the guy. He out-carried “starter” Rachaad White by 9 carries. No doubt that Tucker is the RB1 until Bucky Irving is back. I sound like a broken record at this point but the Bucs are devoid of talent on the offensive side due to injuries. Tucker has been a welcome surprise to the Bucs and fantasy owners. After his performance this week, he should have plenty of opportunities moving forward. Up next, the Bucs play the Los Angeles Rams. Tough matchup for sure but you have to think that Baker Mayfield is going to do everything he can to make this game competitive.
WR: Michael Wilson (ARI)
15.2% Rostered
Was that Ja’Marr Chase in a Cardinals Jersey against the 49ers? Nope! That was Michael Wilson. With a stat line like he had, I can see where people can mix up Chase and Wilson. Wilson had an incredible game. He put up 33.5 points against the San Francisco 49ers with 15 receptions on 18 targets for 185. Let’s be clear… He is NEVER going to have a game like this again but you gotta pick the hot hand. Although he won’t have 15 receptions again, he has clearly become Jacoby Brissett’s #2 passing option behind Trey McBride. Being that high in the pecking order on this Cardinals team is a great place to be fantasy wise. The Cardinals are not a good defensive team. The majority of their game scripts will have them down big which means alotttttt of passing. Up next, the Cardinals take on the Jacksonville Jaguars who have a passing defense that ranks bottom 7 in the NFL.
TE: Harold Fannin Jr (CLE)
53.1% Rostered
I know, I know, Harold Fannin is above the 50% threshold but this was such a solid pick that I couldn’t pass it up. Fannin had 4.6 points against the Baltimore Ravens with 2 receptions on 5 targets for 26 yards. Not great in terms of point total but he has so much opportunity moving forward. The potential is there. He is heavily targeted in this Browns offense. In recent games he has been targeted 5, 7, 8, 5 and 10 times. The Browns’ don’t have a very good O-Line so short passes to the TE are the way to go. After QB Dillion Gabriel got injured, Shedeur Sanders got into the game. I’m not sure who the QB1 for the Browns will be but they’ll both be rookies and we all know how much rookie QBs love their TEs. Harold Fannin is a 2 week TE play. This week he’ll play a very bad Las Vegas Raiders team and the week after that is the terrible, swiss cheese San Francisco 49ers’ defense.
